Synthesis of Peptides from Glycine on Anatases with Different Crystal Facets

Semiconductor minerals are widely present on the surface of Earth, but their roles in process peptide formation from amino acids less studied, especially role different crystal facets origin life. In this research, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), thermogravimetric analysis (TA/DTA), Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and simulation calculations were used to study condensation glycine anatase with (001) ordinary as well reaction mechanism. Combined TA/DTA heating experiments (80–130 °C), it was found that could both catalyze form corresponding oligopeptides (mainly DKP, Gly2 Gly3). Anatase shows better catalytic effect, which can reduce temperature 90 °C. With increase temperature, efficiency for is relatively higher, maximum yield about 0.20 mg/m2. The Gly3 0.28 results FTIR calculation show electron density carboxyl group changes after adsorbed anatase, easily subject nucleophilic attack groups promote reaction. These provide reference research small biomolecules semiconductor mineral surfaces
